I always seemed to get hands that couldnt reliably get to my payoff cards in time, or I would ramp smoothly but wouldnt be able to find my payoffs

If you are using Doubling Season in one of the many decks built around +1/+1 counters then this is better as it does everything the Season will do in that build only for a cheaper cost

While I'm not sure how well the deck will line up with Prowess and Mice, hopefully those decks won't be long for this world

Simply put, the simple, focused strategies usually do the best, and it's hard to do much simpler than Counter-Burn

I just didn't know where, so the creative treatment on this card was just a random guess
